as an artist, it has occured to me that a biography of me could include the following;

i) a famous literary quote, poem, song lyric. excellent! it goes as pre-requisite that I am a tortured soul, and therefore my dark, existential musings must be compounded by delicious literature, which burns the edges of my soul. and so on.
ii) nothing. for i am an artist, and all that i do sings to the world in its originality. i am beyond mere words, and i shall leave you to ponder my enigmatic nothingness with awe.
iii) and he shall relate tales of angst/happiness/love/success/brave ulysses in the third person, for he is above the lowly coil of the first person narrative. tremble with fear and respect at his commanding use of pronouns.
iv) to prove that my artistry knows no bounds, i will suffuse the biography with HTML, and prove that I can write in pink font if i damn well please. this will prove my supremacy over you all.

then i thought, fuck that. because you see in spite of appearances, this artist also happens to be a pretty lazy bastard. So instead, I stole an idea that was floating around, and made my Friendlist write my bio instead. that way, I got to sit on my arse playing The Verve on guitar all afternoon, so that wasn't so bad. that was the challenge I issued the brethren whose names are on a big ol' list just down the bottom of the page there. and this is what they said.

Andy is by turns kind, obnoxious, sensitive, tactless, and music-obsessed. His interests include eating pie, writing, eating sandwiches, not doing homework, eating crumble, eating. He is fully himself at all times.

Quite a challenging task, as have not known you long, but from what I DO know you like sleeping, eating (esp Emma's ice cream :)), reading and mocking passport photos (and my tennis heroes!! hehe)

He is currently growing his hair and beard, so he can braid a rope ladder, escape from the stone tower and come and visit everyone on his flist.

Currently his beard is at 1.105 metres, and his ponytail at 3.62 metres long. Watch this space!

they're good little minionites, aren't they? i think i've proved my point - no, wait, there was no point. i'm just pretty vain and all and wanted to see if people wrote nice things about me. hahah. they sure showed me.

so, okay. my name is Andy, I'm a 21-year old. I am currently on a year abroad from Durham University, teaching French kids in Paris how to speak the Queen's English (yeah right). After that I'll be travelling for a while, then probably wandering over to Spain to see how those guys are doing. I am a generally cheerful and relaxed sort of person, just happy to be here.
